Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite (GT-I9060) To Be Announced At MWC 2014 (Rumor)
Recently, Samsung announced the Galaxy Grand 2, a successor to its mid-range Galaxy Grand. Now, a new rumor suggests that Samsung is reportedly working on a new addition to its Galaxy Grand series dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite with a model number GT-I9060, which will see the daylight next year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2014. The handset is expected to bring specifications that will lie between the original Samsung Galaxy Grand and the recently announced Galaxy Grand 2.
According to the folks at SamMobile, citing their insiders, Samsung will announce Galaxy Grand Lite at MWC 2014 and will feature a 5-inch WVGA display sporting a resolution of 380 x 800 pixels. Moreover, the handset is expected to be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage with expandable memory via microSD card slot and a 2,100 mAh battery. The handset will be available in white, “Midnight Black”, “Lime Green”, and orange colors. On the rear, the handset is rumored to feature a 5MP camera, paired with a VGA front-facing camera and will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, but it is expected to launch with Android 4.3 pre-installed out of the box. Additionally, the handset will also come with dual-SIM support for emerging markets such as China and India where dual-SIM smartphones are fairly popular, but it’s not confirmed at the moment. The handset is expected to target the lower mid-range market and it would be interesting to see the pricing strategy of the Korean OEM. Due to the competitive low-range market, they have to introduce it with a price tag that can attract the customers.Let’s just take this rumor with a pinch of salt. The folks at SamMobile have a very decent track record, but nothing is official until it’s from the Korean OEM itself. We’ll update you as soon as more information pops up.
