LG G2 Will get Android 4.4 KitKat in December
After Google unveiled Android 4.4 KitKat last week, other OEMs like HTC and Samsung and a few others have tweeted or teased about having their flagship devices get updated to the latest OS.
But, there was one particular OEM which was rather quiet about it, LG. Even now, LG hasn’t said anything about the G2 getting update, but a French carrier, SFR, revealed that the G2 will be updated to Android 4.4 at around December.
Google unveiled it’s new iteration for Android last week. The new update represents an important milestone in the history of the OS as Google seeks to cement its hold on the mobile device market. not only does Android 4.4 brings a new revamped look and feel, it also wants to reduce fragmentation by creating a solid base to allow less capable phones to be able to run Android 4.4 smoothly.
Somewhat ironically, LG, who manufactured the reference Nexus 5 smartphone that was announced together with Android 4.4, has so far kept silent about when its flagship smartphone will receive an update. Fortunately, LG G2 users can stop wondering when their device will get the new goodness of KitKat. At least we now know that the update will be released between November and December .
